April got off to a bright start for London’s Giving, when representatives from the capital's place based giving schemes came together to explore a renewed vision for place-based giving. Over the past year, we’ve consulted widely with practitioners, community members and other partners to scope out a new vision for place based giving. Our network day in April gave us all the opportunity to engage with the outcomes of this process, and how we can align around a bold new direction.
The event offered a powerful way to reflect on where we are now, envision where we want to be, and chart a course towards that future. The Impact and Communications subgroup - made up of representatives from across place based giving schemes in London and Bedford - has been working hard over recent months to translate our ideas into a compelling vision for a thriving future place-based giving movement.
Every time this network meets I am struck by the energy it wields and our collective desire to shift the system. I think we all left feeling better connected, and better able to see how the work which happens locally contributes to a wider movement for change.
Keep an eye out for more information next month as we share the next stage of this journey!
