On 4th March 2025, Kingston Giving hosted a successful event at The Rose Theatre to unveil What Kingston Thinks, a report based on nine months of research into the needs, challenges, and opportunities within the Borough of Kingston. The event also marked the organisation’s relaunch under its new name, transitioning from Kingston Charitable Foundation to Kingston Giving. This change reflects a renewed commitment to strengthening the local community and creating lasting positive change.
The report, which captured insights from over 200 residents, highlighted several critical areas for action, including addressing inequality, supporting mental health initiatives, and fostering collaboration between local stakeholders.
The launch event attracted a wide range of attendees, including community leaders, local charities, trustees, and other stakeholders, and led to numerous discussions on how to address the borough’s challenges collaboratively.
A Vision for Kingston’s Future
Kingston Giving’s new name and mission emphasise building a resilient community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. The findings from What Kingston Thinks will guide the organisation’s efforts, informing funding priorities and collaborative initiatives.
The event was described as the starting point for meaningful conversations that will continue to shape Kingston’s future. By connecting local organisations and changemakers, Kingston Giving hopes to turn these conversations into concrete actions that address the borough’s most pressing issues.
