OneRichmond is delighted to share their peer led research report on the needs of young people in the borough with the London’s Giving movement and the wider sector.
Coinciding with the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic, the research focuses both on long term issues that local young people face, and the impacts of the crisis for Richmond’s youth. Working with Rocket Science, ‘Youth Needs Analysis 2020’ was led by 14 young peer researchers who interviewed 222 young people, local charities and community groups and public sector colleagues.
The report’s series of twelve recommendations for funders and stakeholders include supporting health and wellbeing initiatives, facilitating youth worker forums and developing partnerships between employers and schools to provide careers advice and work opportunities for local young people.
Taking the report on board, OneRichmond is likely to focus initially on supporting mentoring for young people; and creating a website that informs young people what’s on and where across Richmond.
