When: 21 May 2026
Where: Macquarie Group, 28 Ropemaker Street, London EC2Y 9HD
Across the UK, there is renewed attention on the role communities play in shaping lasting change. Long recognised across civil society and local practice in many different forms, this emphasis on communities and places, is influencing how government, philanthropy, business and others think about power, investment and shared impact.
Common Ground, convened by London's Giving and Funders Together, and kindly hosted by Macquarie Group, will bring together this wider conversation, creating a shared space for those working across local and regional agendas to connect and exchange with one another.
This event will bring together practitioners, funders, policymakers, businesses and community leaders from across the UK to explore what this looks like in practice, sharing evidence, experience and insight from across the field. It is an opportunity to surface common ground across different approaches, while also deepening understanding of the unique role place-based giving can play within this wider movement.
At its heart, this convening focuses on place based giving and we're delighted to be able to share the wealth of knowledge and insight from our London's Giving network as part of the event. As interest in community-led approaches continues to grow nationally, we know that place based giving offers a relational model for how resources, decision-making and accountability can be anchored more deeply in communities and neighbourhoods.
At a moment of increasing momentum, Common Ground invites participants to be part of shaping what comes next, strengthening connections, building shared understanding, and contributing to the future of place based giving across the UK.
